Assumption grad gets GOP job

If the upcoming 10 months or even 10 years are anything like Kristin Ruesch's first 10 days on the job, she could be in for a whirlwind of a career.

Ruesch, a 2002 Assumption High School (Wisconsin Rapids) graduate, was recently named the communications director for the Republican Party of Wisconsin. The 25-year-old University of Wisconsin alumna previously worked in the office of state Rep. Phil Montgomery, R-Green Bay.

"I just think it's exciting to make a difference," said Ruesch, who will be writing news releases, newsletters and other public documents. "I hope people get more involved and really pay attention to their elected officials and how they actually impact the direction we're going just by making a phone call to their representatives."

Mark Jefferson, executive director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin, released the following statement about Ruesch:

"She has a record of outstanding service in the Legislature, and I'm delighted to have her leading our efforts to deliver the party's message of responsible government in times of unprecedented spending," he said.
