Prep roundup: Assumption softball knocks off rival Pittsville

Brittney Brock earned the win on the mound and went 2 for 4 at the plate for the Assumption softball team, and teammate Liz Martin also went 2 for 4 in the Royals' 8-5 win over Marawood South rival Pittsville on Friday.
"We're growing up. We're young, we make mistakes ... but I think we're getting better," said Royals coach Jim Getzloff.
Janine Wegner (3 for 4) and Summer Wilke (2 for 4) had multiple hits for Pittsville.

WISCONSIN DELLS -- Tessa Linzmeier went 3 for 4, Jazmin Soto and Demi Gile each had two hits, but the Papermakers dropped a close game to Wisconsin Dells.
"It was a really good game, and it was for first place in the conference," Papermakers coach Nathan Strehlau said. "It was a slug fest, and they came up with a couple more runners in scoring position and were able to get them in."

The Nekoosa boys track team finished second at the Tri-County Invitational and was led by Ross Ebbe, who won the 100 (11.29 seconds) and 200 (23.26), and Ben Tenpas, who won the shotput (48 feet, 11 inches) and discus (138-7).
Jacob Peterson won the 3,200 as well for the Papermakers.
Raquel Ebbe won the 200 (26.96) and triple jump (35-3) as the Nekoosa girls team finished in fourth place.
Molly Christiansen won the high jump with a jump of 4 feet, 10 inches.
